Jeremy and I met in 2004 – we got married in 2008, and he adopted Alex in 2009.
In September of 2010 we had a baby boy born with a very rare brain malformation that was not detected prenatally. He lived for 10 weeks before gaining his angel wings.
Our family will be forever changed by the experience of Gavin’s short life, but I would not trade the time we had with him for anything.
Now we are expecting again, due April 29, 2012. We are a combination of nervous, excited and hopeful.
I’ve started this blog to have an outlet to talk about my feelings as we experience this pregnancy. They were unable to determine the cause of Gavin’s lissencephaly, and can not tell us an exact chance of recurrence .. it’s anywhere from less than 1% to 25%.
We are working hard to stay hopeful and positive, and trust that everything will be alright. I welcome you to join us on this journey – our journey to a rainbow baby after loss.
